Field Notes from the Hearth
The most reliable teaching hour in our house is not scheduled anywhere: it is the twenty minutes by the hearth after dinner.
No worksheet, no correction, just reading aloud and talking about what was read. It has done more for her vocabulary than any workbook we have tried.
We are keeping it exactly as unstructured as it started, on purpose.
