Building a Progress Ledger

We are getting our groove down. The Oak Meadow curriculum has provided a great baseline for the core learning essentials, but we do not follow the textbook down to the letter. Rather, we treat the core curriculum as a trail in the forest, and we occasionally wander from the trail if we see something interesting.

I've implemented a point system and identified, with varying point values, certain books for Aliyah to earn 425 points for her chosen prize of a new saddle. She not only receives credit for additional reading, but for displaying acting with morality toward her sister, animals, and others.

Right now, she is excelling at her western civ, science, and English, completing her tasks in an interdisciplinary fashion. We are finishing our studies of Egyptian history, particularly the period of Ramses II.
